Next, remove the Top and Front-Right mesh panels. These are friction-fit, secured by clips and ball joints. Find an exposed edge where a panel was removed or use the lip at the rear and bottom of the case to pull outward.

Unscrew the three screws along the top edge, followed by the screw at the top-left outside the case and the screw at the bottom-right inside the case. Lift the panel up to unlock it and remove it. Finally, remove the Drive Cage and Accessory Box from the right chamber of the case. Loosen the retention screw, lift the Drive Cage up to unlock it from the rear, and pull it out. The Accessory Box inside contains screws, fasteners, and zip ties needed for your build.

The NZXT H6 series comes configured for both ATX and ITX motherboards. If you’re using an mATX (Micro ATX) motherboard, you’ll need to relocate some pre-installed standoffs from the lower mounts labeled “A” to the upper mounts labeled “U” to ensure proper mounting.
If your motherboard doesn’t include an integrated I/O plate, make sure it’s securely installed on the rear of the case. Press it into the cutout from the inside of the case. Be careful when installing an I/O plate as it’s usually made of stamped metal and can be sharp. Many motherboards, including NZXT N Series Motherboards, have an integrated I/O plate, making installation simpler.
Align the motherboard with the I/O plate or cutout at the rear of the case. Lower the motherboard so the standoffs align with the screw holes on the motherboard. The NZXT H6 case has a raised center standoff to help align the motherboard in place. There are various methods for applying thermal paste, but we’ll be using a pea-sized amount in the center of the IHS. If you have a new, never installed NZXT Kraken series cooler, you can skip this step because your thermal compound will already be pre-applied and ready to go.
Ensure that the appropriate mounting hardware is installed on your AIO’s cold plate cap (for NZXT Kraken coolers, these will be the mounting brackets). Carefully align the cold plate cap with the CPU socket on the motherboard. You can use the mounting bracket holes as guides for proper alignment. Once aligned, gently lower the cold plate cap onto the CPU socket, ensuring it sits flush with the motherboard.

Once the cold plate cap is securely mounted, connect the AIO pump power cable to the corresponding header on your motherboard, typically labeled “CPU_FAN” or “AIO_PUMP.”
